I like it...still very “fuck you poor people.” We spent an hour yesterday trying to buy a few and apparently there’s a huge issue with Benz stores selling these to people who aren’t physically in the store. Most of the ones landed have been spoken for, I did have 3 I attemped to buy but alas that fell through . There’s also one Matte Black one i think down south, it’s the only matte black one in the country and it’s pretty baller...148k MSRP.

Along with the 911, It’s one of the few vehicles where the cheapest one is the rarest. Just at work there are threee G63s and 0 550. A local guy ended up buying a new G550 to compliment is last gen G63. It’s crazy.

I have yet to see a new model. This is one of those things that, if new, would be one of the DDs in my lottery garage, and I could actually afford a used one, but the running costs scare me off.

Too bad about the Kardashian/entitled Stepford/mafia/money laundering residency purchaser/devilspawn of the aformentioned image. It also kind of shouts that the driver is undertaxed. An appropriate vehicle for this new Belle Epoque, and all of the issues that come from such an age.

I suspect the demand curve will keep sales at MSRP and relatively slight depreciation for awhile.

I’m curious as to how you make money buying new cars?

It’s funny - I see a lot of G wagons around me ( because Hinsdale and Burr Ridge, almost exclusively driven by people texting and driving ) , but don’t think I’ve seen a new one yet.

Funny how the G63 is more common than the G550, too.

$148k seems like a steal considering what some of them go for. There’s a lady near me who cruises around an an old two door ragtop. I give her a Jeep wave whenever we pss each other.

Lots of G’s where i live. I haven’t seen a new one yet, but maybe the lease turnover hasn’t been timed with the launch.

If you were to walk through the parking lot at my kids preschool, you would swear that these were the children of diplomats or federal agents. All black full size suvs. Most have black wheels. No imagination with any of these folks.

My car is orange. And it’s a sedan. We don’t get invited to play dates.

I’d say that around me, it’s probably 2/ 3 G63, 1/ 3 G550.

But I think I’ve only seen 1 G65 - I’ve seen more Brabus G wagons than G65s.

I don’t consider the 2019 to be the Geländewagen , but a clever impostor. Simply too much has changed. I prefer the older boxier version that’s less safe.

Granted, my only experience with them is at the Philly Auto Show, where they are often left unlocked, which is great because I NEVER tire of the door kathunks .
